Diptera reared from nests of Vespa crabro in Hungary

Abstract:

Dipteran specimens (n=8225), from 19 species viz. Tinearia alternata, Lycoriella cellaris, Coboldia fuscipes, Drapetis assimilis, Eccoptomera obscura, Tephrochlamys tarsalis, Gymnochiromyia inermis, Telomerina flavipes, Phyllomyza longipalpis, Desmometopa sordida, Fannia scalaris, F. aequilineata, Potamia littoralis and species from Cecidomyiidae Sciaridae and Megaselia families, were reared from two Vespa crabro nests collected in the Börzsöny Mountains in Hungary. Several species were found for the first time in this type of microhabitat.
